The 30th session of the People's Council of Quang Nam province, term X, held this morning, March 12, approved the Resolution on the Regulations on funding support for the construction of martyrs' graves and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers' graves buried outside martyrs' cemeteries in Quang Nam province in the period of 2025-2027.
The report 1839/Ttr-UBND of the province stated that Quang Nam currently has 31,436 martyrs' graves and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers' graves buried outside martyrs' cemeteries, including 1,495 earthen graves, 16,573 lime-mortar graves, 5,338 ceramic tile graves and 8,030 granite-clad graves.
Since the liberation of the homeland, there has only been support from the central budget at the level of 250,000 VND/grave to build graves and later 2,500,000 VND/grave (according to Decree No. 3 31/2013/ND-CP dated April 9, 2013 of the Government); specifically, there has been no support for the graves of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.
According to the current situation, most of the graves of martyrs and graves of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers buried outside the martyrs' cemetery are managed by the family, and several earthen graves and lime-mortar graves are still large. After 50 years of national reunification, there are still many graves of martyrs and graves of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers that are damaged and degraded, which is a constant concern of all levels and sectors. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to develop and submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval and promulgation of a Resolution on the Project to support funding for the construction of martyrs' graves and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers' graves buried outside martyrs' cemeteries in Quang Nam province for the period 2025-2027.
At the meeting, delegates of the Provincial People's Council unanimously voted to approve the Resolution on Regulations on supporting funding for the construction of martyrs' graves and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers' graves buried outside martyrs' cemeteries in Quang Nam province for the period 2025-2027. Specifically, the province will invest about 315 billion VND from the provincial budget to build 31,436 new graves with a support level of 10 million VND/grave. The investment will be divided into 3 years: 2025 (71 billion VND), 2026 (110 billion VND), and 2027 (134 billion VND).
