On the evening of February 21, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province organized the closing ceremony of the National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024 with the theme of Living in harmony with nature.
Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh - Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment, and representatives of many international organizations. On the Quang Nam side, there was the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh, leaders of departments, branches, and leaders of Tam Ky City.
In the framework of the "National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024" with the theme "Living in harmony with nature"; There are events organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (a series of activities in response to the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22; International Day for Biosphere Reserves on November 3) and in response from many provinces and centrally-run cities. In Quang Nam, there are more than 40 events and a series of rich and unique activities taking place throughout March to December 2024 with the active participation of sectors, levels, and the whole society with many scales and levels from large to small: there are national-level activities such as the Opening of the National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024; international activities such as Biodiversity Exhibition, international activities (International Workshop on Conservation and Promotion of Wetland Ecosystem Values of Dam River Lake, Tam Ky City; Rally in Response to the Action Campaign for Wildlife; Seminar on Signing a Cross-Border Wildlife Protection Cooperation Program with Sekong Province (Laos); etc); Provincial; District; Base Level Activities; etc.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also announced and awarded the Decision to establish Cu Lao Cham Nature Reserve; Certificate of Biodiversity Conservation Facility for Ngoc Linh Ginseng to Tra Linh Medicinal Plant Station under the Center for Development of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Plants of Quang Nam; gratitude to international organizations and non-governmental organizations that have accompanied and made many positive contributions to the work of biodiversity conservation in Quang Nam province; Rewarding 5 units and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing activities of the National Biodiversity Restoration Year - Quang Nam 2024.
