On the afternoon of February 14, the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Quang Nam Province took place at the Provincial Party Committee Hall. The meeting was chaired by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Quang Nam Province.
The report at the meeting of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said that by February 12, 2025, Quang Nam had completed 5,590 houses, reaching nearly 48%, including 3,771 newly built homes and 1,819 repaired houses. The total funding supported was more than VND 273 billion. Thus, the number of houses needed to be completed in 2025 is 6,073, with a funding requirement of more than VND 320 billion. With a budget of over VND 261.7 billion and mobilized resources of over VND 133.7 billion, the total available funding is nearly VND 395.5 billion, Quang Nam ensures financial resources to carry out the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses this year.
At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed the importance of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses. He emphasized that to achieve high results, there needs to be active and enthusiastic participation from all levels, sectors, and localities. In addition, propaganda, dissemination, and awareness change are very necessary to improve the effectiveness of implementation.
Assigning specific tasks to the Provincial People's Committee and agencies, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary agreed to assign focal points to monitor and synthesize reports on the elimination of temporary houses to the Department of Agriculture and Environment after February 20 (after the establishment of the new department).
At the same time, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee is requested to advise the Provincial Party Committee to organize a conference to review 3 years of implementing Directive No. 25 dated March 31, 2025, of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in the work of eliminating temporary houses and some related contents. In particular, it is requested to advise the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on a plan to inspect and supervise the work of eliminating temporary houses in localities.
The Provincial Party Secretary also requested the Provincial Police to implement strict inspection and supervision measures, especially in the management of financial budget sources to ensure that no violations, losses, or waste of resources occur.
