On the afternoon of November 11, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with relevant departments and branches on preparations for the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism in Quang Nam. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Quang Buu, chaired the meeting.
The conference is chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, and is scheduled to take place from December 7 to 12 at Vinpearl Resort and Golf Nam Hoi An.
About 300 delegates are expected to attend the event, including international delegates who are leaders and officials of the United Nations Tourism Organization, tourism ministries, national tourism agencies of UN Tourism member countries, villages in the UN Tourism Best Villages Network, international organizations, tourism experts, etc.
Activities from the 7th to the 12th are expected to include organizing a space to introduce culture and tourism, organizing the 2nd annual meeting of the US Tourism Best Villages Network; International Conference on Rural Tourism; meeting and working between Government leaders and the UN Tourism Secretary General.
At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that it had planned activities, surveyed necessary conditions, and coordinated with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to plan the implementation of the International Conference and related activities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to promulgate. The Provincial People's Committee also plans to hold a press conference to announce the hosting of the International Conference on Rural Tourism scheduled for next week.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to closely coordinate with professional units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, departments and branches to implement activities to ensure professionalism, thoughtfulness, respect, in accordance with diplomatic protocol and international practices. The International Conference on Rural Tourism is a forum to discuss issues and initiatives related to rural tourism development, aiming to diversify tourism products, create livelihoods for local people; and solve the problem of tourist overload at urban tourism centers. At the same time, propose solutions to develop and promote rural tourism products, apply new initiatives, digital technology, and green technology in tourism to contribute to promoting the recovery and sustainable development of tourism.
