The bamboo planting project of BAF (Bamboo Argo Forestry) aims to contribute to combating climate change, developing a sustainable agro-forestry economy, and doing business for the community. According to professional research, planting bamboo on an area of 10 million hectares of degraded land can save more than 7 gigatons of CO2 within 30 years, equivalent to reducing emissions of about 30 million E-cars in the same period...

Bamboo is also a durable material that can replace a large number of materials with high carbon emissions, such as plastic, PVC, steel, and concrete; At the same time, reducing the pressure on the use of forest wood resources, because bamboo can replace most other wood products, can be recycled and used as a green energy source, becoming an essential renewable resource.

The BAF project will cooperate with forest land owners for at least 30 years, not directly leasing land from the state but cooperating with forest owners, which can be individuals or cooperatives currently using or managing the use of forest land, consuming output products by building bamboo processing factories. Bamboo can be harvested for shoots from the 3rd year and harvested for raw materials from the 5th year. Bamboo planting profits are 5 times higher than Acacia auriculiformis. This will be an effective poverty reduction livelihood for people. However, this requires the support of the government in orienting regional planning and crop conversion. In fact, the enterprise has also successfully implemented a similar project in Dak Nong province.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu said that bamboo planting is consistent with the state's policy on sustainable forestry development and climate change response. However, according to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu, under the conditions of the new Land Management Law taking effect, the best connection is still with enterprises and cooperatives; as for factory construction, there are many options.
