From April 21 to April 26, 2025, the 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad for high school students was held in Turkmenistan. All 6 contestants from the Vietnamese team participating in the Olympiad won Gold Medals, including 2 twin brothers from Quang Nam, Nguyen Tri Hien, and Nguyen Tri Hau, 11th grade students at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted.
The 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad for high school students gathered more than 230 talented students and about 50 teachers from 15 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Armenia, Bulgaria, Nepal, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Qatar and the host country Turkmenistan.
The Vietnamese team participating in the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad has 6 excellent students from specialized schools and high-quality educational institutions across the country.
According to regulations, the Organizing Committee will officially award prizes to 50% of the participating candidates, in which the ratio of Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals is 1:2:3. In addition, the Organizing Committee will award certificates of merit to students who achieve the maximum score for 1 problem.
The exam takes place in one day. The exam consists of 5 problems, each worth 10 points. The time to complete the exam is 5 hours.
The International Mathematical Olympiad is the leading prestigious intellectual playground for high school students worldwide. Vietnam has a tradition of participating and achieving many high achievements in this exam over the years.
