On November 1, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Quang Buu co-chaired a dialogue with leaders of cooperatives in Quang Nam to hear their feedback on the production and business situation and the difficulties and obstacles that have arisen.
At the dialogue, representatives of many cooperatives said that there are many difficulties and obstacles in the process of developing the cooperative economic model. Specifically, many units do not have land funds to invest in building offices, warehouses, and drying yards; the accumulation of land to link production according to the value chain still has many obstacles.
Notably, the preferential loan limit of the Quang Nam Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund is low, so many units lack investment capital to expand the scale of production and business; unable to attract young cadres with professional qualifications to work long-term at cooperatives due to low salaries, while the province's support mechanism has expired, etc.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung acknowledged the feedback from representatives of cooperatives and shared the difficulties and obstacles that the units are facing. At the same time, he said that in the past, the province has issued many mechanisms and policies to support the development of cooperative economy, but the regulations are too restrictive, making it difficult to implement.
Having high expectations for the adaptation to the constantly changing production and business environment for the collective economic sector - cooperatives, especially new-style cooperatives with diverse production and business lines, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung also pointed out the limitations, including the potential of the majority of cooperatives is still weak and small-scale.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized the need to link cooperatives to move towards new production models and large-scale commodity production, further promoting the application of technology and digital transformation.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung also assigned the Quang Nam Cooperative Union to coordinate with departments, branches, and associations to continue monitoring, listening, and understanding the difficulties that cooperatives are facing. Review and re-evaluate policy mechanisms for cooperatives, have advisory reports, and propose appropriate policy mechanisms, aiming at sustainable development for the collective economic sector in the face of constant fluctuations in the economy and market.
