On the afternoon of January 21, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan chaired a meeting with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and related departments and branches to listen to reports on the implementation of vocational training policies and employment support for young people who have completed their military service, police, and young volunteers who have completed their tasks to implement socio-economic development programs and projects in the province in the period 2019-2024.
According to the report, from 2019 to 2024, the total provincial budget allocated more than 50.9 billion VND to implement the policy of supporting elementary-level training for young people who have been discharged from the army. The total number of young people registered to study elementary level is 4,602 people/15,338 young people who have been discharged from the military, reaching a rate of 30%.
Up to now, the total number of demobilized youth participating in elementary vocational training who have completed training and received support funding from the budget is 4,405 people with a total funding of more than 48 billion VND.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Qui Quy said: Vocational training and job creation in the province have been implemented quite well in the past. However, the implementation of this policy still has some difficulties and problems, such as: According to regulations, the Vocational Training Card "has a maximum value of 12 months of basic salary at the time of vocational training" but only supports funding for elementary vocational training.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan highly appreciated the significance of the support policy for demobilized youth and youth volunteers who complete program and project tasks in the province.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan assigned relevant units to coordinate with the Bank for Social Policies to consider and agree on the level of loan support as well as training policies, ensuring suitability, practicality, and effectiveness, contributing to helping demobilized youth receive vocational training, find stable jobs, and develop the economy.
