Quang Nam announces Resolution on reorganizing district and commune-level administrative units

Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education Ta Van Ha attended the announcement ceremony.

On the side of Quang Nam province, there were alternate members of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung.

The announcement ceremony took place directly at the provincial bridge and online at the relevant district-level People's Committee bridges including Que Son, Nong Son, Tien Phuoc, Phu Ninh, Thang Binh, Hiep Duc, Duy Xuyen and Tam Ky City.

At the announcement ceremony, Mr. To Van Tam - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee announced Resolution No. 1241 dated October 24, 2024, on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Quang Nam province in 2023-2025.

Nong Son and Que Son to establish the new Que Son district; merging 16 commune-level administrative units.

When Resolution No. 1241 takes effect, Quang Nam has 17 district-level administrative units (14 districts, 2 cities, 1 town), and 233 commune-level administrative units (190 communes, 29 wards, and 14 towns).

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province have led and directed the organization and arrangement with high political determination. Quang Nam Province submitted the project to the Central Government ahead of schedule. The project was rigorous and followed the correct procedures, highly appreciated by the Central Inter-sectoral Appraisal Council, and was approved by the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee on October 24, 2024.

Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested the Provincial People's Committee and relevant agencies and units to focus on directing, urging, and guiding the implementation of Resolution No. 1241/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee and related documents. In particular, focusing on perfecting the organization and staff in conjunction with implementing Directive No. 35-CT/TW of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term for administrative units to be reorganized by the direction of the Central Government and the Provincial Party Committee.
