According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, the buying and selling, transporting of banned goods, smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods were very complicated. The authorities have proactively and actively implemented synchronous solutions to inspect, urge, and guide; inform, propagate, and disseminate the law; and fight to prevent and handle smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

At the conference, many opinions and proposed solutions were also put forward: Continue to improve institutions and laws to have a legal framework as a basis for strictly handling acts of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights; strengthen coordination and data sharing among forces, ministries, branches, and localities; have policies and regimes to reward and encourage troops, especially people, to participate in the fight, prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts of ministries, branches, and localities in the past time; Some localities have coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies to detect several large-scale establishments of counterfeit, fake, and smuggled goods. However, in addition to the achieved results, there are still many shortcomings and obstacles. Especially the shortcomings related to institutions, facilities, investment, finance, means, and implementation organization. Some places still take it lightly, are lax, are not interested, and lack a sense of responsibility, etc.

The Prime Minister requested the participation of the entire political system, especially relevant agencies, to coordinate closely to create common strength, to take people as the center and subject, and to mobilize the strength of people and businesses.

The Prime Minister also proposed to launch a movement so that each citizen is a soldier in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, and at the same time, be a smart consumer in the market.
