Quang Nam honors 84 outstanding blood donors and families

This morning, May 29, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation organized a ceremony to honor outstanding blood donors in 2025 on the occasion of International Blood Donor Day, June 14.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan praised the noble act of donating blood to save lives of volunteers.

Participating in the program were comrades: Le Tri Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Honorary Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society; Huynh Thi Thuy Dung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation.

Representatives of departments, branches, sectors, the Front, mass organizations; members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; units, schools, hospitals; the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the Red Cross of districts, towns, cities, and representatives of blood donation clubs under the Provincial Association.

Speaking at the honoring program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the sentiments and responsibilities of all levels and sectors, especially the noble gesture of donating blood to save the lives of volunteers.

This year, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation selected 84 outstanding groups, families, and individuals - examples of blood donation from 20 to 52 times from localities, agencies, and blood donation clubs across the province to honor and show gratitude.

In 2024, the province established 224 blood donation clubs with 6,746 members to ensure a stable blood supply for patients. Of which, there are 130 reserve blood donation clubs with 5,465 members, 29 "Club 25" with 725 members, 30 family blood donation clubs with 241 members, and 35 voluntary blood donation clubs with 315 members. According to reports from hospitals in the province, in 2024, there were 3,235 units of blood supported by live blood banks and relatives.

On this occasion, the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization Committee honored 84 outstanding collectives, families, and individuals in the voluntary blood donation movement in the province, including Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; Bronze plaques, Badges from 20 to 50 blood donations from the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Quang Nam province.
