"Supporting the prevention of coastal erosion of Cua Dai through green corridors and coastal ecological parks" is a project funded by the German Development Cooperation Organization - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, implemented on the coastal route of Cua Dai ward, Hoi An city.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh - Director of the Institute for Construction and Urban Economics Research informed that over the past years, the Cua Dai coastal area has been seriously eroded, affecting economic infrastructure works and technical infrastructure, social-service-tourism, people's lives, natural landscapes, and coastal ecosystems, etc.

Faced with that reality, in early 2022, with support from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), ICUE received a call for proposals for small projects (IKI Small Grants - Call for proposals 2022 A).

With that call for proposals, ICUE actively developed a project proposal with the enthusiastic support of domestic and international individuals and organizations. Through the evaluation and review process, the official sponsor announced that ICUE was one of 25 selected proposals, out of a total of nearly 500 proposals globally.

Construction started in July 2023, and the project's items have been completed and are ready for use; thereby contributing to Hoi An City's response to climate change, an issue that seriously affects the natural environment, ecosystem, people's lives, tourism activities, and the local economy.
