Quang Nam changes the naming plan for new communes and wards after the rearrangement
This morning, April 21, the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee held a conference to discuss and give opinions on several contents within its authority.
Comrades Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the conference.
The conference discussed and approved the new naming plan for 88 communes and wards in the province, replacing the plan issued under Resolution 45 dated April 18, 2025, of the Provincial Party Committee, which was announced to collect public opinions.
According to a report from the Department of Home Affairs, after organizing the collection of public opinions according to the plan issued in Resolution 45 of the Provincial Party Committee on April 19 and 20, 99.02% of voters representing households in the whole province participated in giving opinions; In which, 97.66% of voters approved the arrangement of commune levels, and 98.52% of voters approved the merger of Quang Nam province with Da Nang city.
At the conference, delegates discussed and gave their opinions enthusiastically and agreed not to name the new communes and wards by the old district name plus the serial numbers 1, 2, 3, etc., or in the direction of east, west, south, north, etc. Instead, use names associated with historical and cultural relics that are representative of each region.
Concluding the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested the Department of Home Affairs to guide localities to continue to immediately collect voters' opinions on the names of new commune-level administrative units that were just agreed upon at the conference and to promptly complete the next steps to submit to the province for synthesis and completion of the project to submit to the Provincial People's Council at the 31st Session.
Previously, on the morning of April 20, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province sent a document to districts, towns, and cities in the area regarding the re-proposal of the names of the proposed administrative units after the rearrangement.
