More than 1,200 artists attend the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition
On the evening of April 9, the opening ceremony of the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition - Hoi An 2025 took place at Hoi An Theater.
The 8th Hoi An International Choir Competition took place from April 9 to 13 with the participation of 29 choirs with more than 1,200 artists from Canada, Poland, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
The groups will compete in 11 competitions in 7 categories with performances that both ensure the strict techniques and requirements of the choir and demonstrate the unique identity of each country that is the homeland of the choir.
Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee Nguyen Van Lanh said that the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition - Hoi An 2025 is an outstanding musical event with a prestigious organizing committee and jury in the world, with high expertise and extensive experience.
At the same time, this international cultural event will make the "Hoi An Creative House" more lively on its journey to join the UNESCO global network of creative cities as well as contribute to the development of choral art and chamber music in Hoi An city", said Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh.
Within the framework of the competition, people and tourists will enjoy the exciting competitions of choirs and experience many cultural activities such as Art performances on the river "Hoai Giang Night", a Re-enactment of "Hoi An Ancient Town Night in the early 20th century", street choir performance "International Melody" and visit cultural and tourist attractions in Hoi An.
