Quang Nam summarizes work on overseas Vietnamese

In 2024, work on overseas Vietnamese in Quang Nam achieved many clear results. Policies on nationality, home ownership, immigration, and attracting overseas Vietnamese talents have created favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the cause of national construction and defense. At the same time, propaganda and mobilization work to encourage abroad Vietnamese to comply with the laws of the host country have also been promoted.

During the year, Quang Nam imposed a total of more than 72 million VND in administrative fines on 10 overseas Vietnamese who violated the temporary residence period. Citizen protection, labor management, and international student management have been well implemented, especially in war-torn countries such as Ukraine, Israel, Myanmar, and some African countries. Until now, Quang Nam has sent 1,613 workers to work abroad, reaching 124.08% of the plan.

The conference analyzed difficulties such as the number of workers working abroad is not commensurate with the resources, many workers stay abroad after the end of their contracts, causing difficulties in management, and some localities have not paid full attention to this work.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that in the current context of integration, it is necessary to take full advantage of advantages, thoroughly grasp the core role and responsibility in advising on the implementation of central directives and resolutions on the work of Vietnamese people abroad.

It is proposed to inspect the limited tasks, raise awareness, and promote strengths to effectively implement key tasks, especially connecting the labor market abroad. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan also emphasized the need to review the number of Quang Nam people abroad to receive contributions and promote Vietnamese culture, especially Quang Nam culture, to the foreign world.
