Handing over relics and keepsakes of martyrs to relatives in Quang Nam
(QNP) - On the afternoon of November 20, the Policy Department, General Department of Politics, and Vietnam People's Army coordinated with the Military Command of Quang Nam province to organize a ceremony to hand over relics and keepsakes of 12 martyrs and soldiers who went to B to their relatives and families in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Hoang Tuan Hien, Deputy Director of the Policy Department, said that the relics and keepsakes of the martyrs that were handed over included death notices, notebooks, personal photos, identification papers, certificates of achievement, resistance medals, certificates of merit, personal letters, etc. These were the relics and mementos that the martyrs left behind before going to fight. In the conditions of prolonged war, these relics and mementos were sometimes lost and located in the archives of the units. Colonel Hoang Tuan Hien hopes that the relatives and families of the martyrs will continue to preserve the relics and mementos well, contributing to educating the revolutionary tradition for today's and future generations.
It is known that in the past time, with responsibility and affection, the Policy Department, agencies, and units in the entire army have coordinated with the Department of People with Merits (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to verify information with the desire to soon bring the relics and mementos of the martyrs back to their families, etc.
At the handover ceremony, Colonel Hoang Tuan Hien, Deputy Director of the Policy Department, and Colonel Duong Hoang Toan, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 5 personally handed over each relic and keepsakes of the martyrs to their relatives and families.
On this occasion, the Policy Department presented 22 gifts of encouragement and gratitude to the relatives and families of the martyrs; Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and relatives of outstanding revolutionary contributors in Quang Nam province.
