Quang Nam: 2 people injured, 13 houses had their roofs blown off by storm No. 6

According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Quang Nam province, preliminary statistics as of 2:00 p.m. on October 27 showed that storm No. 6 had injured 2 people, damaged 13 houses, and caused some cracks on the ground in offices and villages.

Specifically, 2 people were injured, including 1 person in Thang Binh district who fell while reinforcing a storm shelter and 1 person in Duy Xuyen district who broke his leg while reinforcing his house, and is currently being treated at the hospital.

The rain and wind also caused 06 houses in Tay Giang district to have their roofs partially blown off and 07 houses in Phuoc Son district to have their roofs blown off. The shock force promptly helped people overcome the consequences.

On the hill behind Na No residential area, Gia Cao village, Phuoc Gia commune, Hiep Duc district (about 50m from the house), a crack about 1m deep and 30m long in an arc shape was discovered. The locality has evacuated all 30 households/156 people here to take temporary shelter at the Primary School and prepared enough food and necessary necessities to support the people.

Heavy rain also caused unusual subsidence and cracks in the foundation and walls of Tay Giang District Medical Center with an area of ​​about 300 square meters. Tay Giang District has proactively temporarily relocated to ensure the safety of officials, civil servants, workers, patients, vehicles, and professional equipment.

The impact of storm No. 6 also caused some roads to have fallen trees, however thanks to the timely response of forces and vehicles, the roads have now been cleared.

From 3:30 a.m. on October 27, 2024, Que Son district experienced a power outage due to a broken Thang Binh - Que Son 35kV line. Que Son Power Company is coordinating with relevant units and localities to fix the power outage and put up warning signs in dangerous areas.

Damage to agriculture and aquaculture has not been estimated.
