On the first day of the new year 2025, Hoi An City organized a reception for Italian guests to "break ground" in Hoi An Ancient Town 2025 at the Japanese Covered Bridge. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung attended and presented gifts to congratulate the guests.
Hoi An welcomed the first 18 international guests to visit, organized by Mien A Dong Joint Stock Company.
Hoi An is a famous destination attracting international tourists due to its long history of development and the harmonious combination of Eastern and Western cultures. In 2024, Quang Nam welcomed 8 million visitors, of which international visitors reached 5.5 million, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023.
After the solemn reception, the delegation visited Hoi An Ancient Town with many ancient architectural works preserved over time, and experienced cultural and artistic activities and demonstrations of traditional crafts typical of the locality.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh - Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People's Committee said that the activity of welcoming the first group of visitors in 2025 will be a symbolic activity showing the warm welcome and hospitality of local people and promises to open a vibrant tourism year, attracting more domestic and international tourists to visit and experience; contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
In 2024, Hoi An City continues to stand out with international awards and titles such as 25 Most Favorite Cities in the World, Leading Cultural City Destination in Asia, and Best Tourist Village in 2024 for Tra Que Vegetable Village, etc.
According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, Quang Nam welcomed a "record" number of visitors in 2024 with an important contribution from Hoi An Ancient Town.
